I committed myself to read God's Word every morning before exiting my bedroom to start the day. I did very well at first and then I forgot a couple of days. I had excuses. I didn't feel well or I had slept in late and then had to hurry off to be at work on time. I have many excuses when I need to justify not completing my daily reading. This is the evil in my world, working diligently to sabotage my relationship with God. Make no mistake, Satan is actively at work in our world. He is targeting every person, every family, and every leader in hopes of destroying them and their happiness.
Well, I brought myself back on track and recommitted myself. I recognized that God is so faithful to me, and that I need to give him the praise and glory for all he does for me and my family. God has allowed me to see benefits from my commitment. Instead of rushing out without reading scripture on late mornings, I speak out loud saying, "NO, I accept the consequences if I am late today, but I am going to read God's Word before I leave the house today." Then I leave the house with such a great feeling, knowing God will help me though-out my day. Next, I stay alert through out my day for situations where the message applies. When a situation arises I enjoy acknowledging God at work in my life: God Sighting! FYI - I am thankful to say that I have not been late to work and I believe that God makes it possible for me to be there on-time.
God has promised us many things. God gives us authority over Satan. Luke 10:19 tells us "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Accessing God's promises requires our activity. Join me in actively pursuing a relationship with God and you, too, will begin to experience God sightings. Wonder about God's promises, read his Word and learn more about his promises, commit yourself and ask Jesus to be your Savior and then, be in wonder at God's work as he uses his people and fulfills his promises.
May Jesus be your Savior and may God bless you and your family.
