My God sighting for today is God’s people. I went to the 10:45 service at church today. Mid way through the service one of our parishioners became ill, passing out. God’s people rushed to this woman’s side to help. We are fortunate to have a few healthcare professionals in our congregation who came to provide aide. We also have loving people who helped by calling 911. A couple gentlemen stood watch by the doors, opening them for the squad. One woman directed them into the sanctuary. Our pastor remained calm, directing the organist to play the next song as he offered prayer for this woman, her family, all who helped and those who would be providing care at the hospital. God’s people taking care of God’s people. We are all God’s people, so let us all care for one another.

Hello again. It is Saturday, the 4th day of the new year. It is also the day my nephew, Tad, was born. What a blessing and challenge he is always. I will never forget the day he had his snowmobile accident. He suffered a spinal injury. We were not sure if he would be able to walk again but we prayed to God, asking for a miracle. Prayers were answered. This is my God sighting for today: prayers answered.
Good morning. Today is Friday, January 3. It is gray and gloomy outside today that seems very appropriate for today because a dear friend died and we will be paying our respects to the family today. The ground is wet and it makes me think that tears of angels have come down from heaven in empathy for the family and friends who grieve. I am sure you have heard it said that death is a blessing in disguise when people have been suffering terribly from a disease process. I believe that is the case with our friend.
I am a believer in Christ and the father Almighty. He was the maker of heaven and earth. He created mankind. He loves us enough to give us opportunities for personal growth and to experience happiness on earth through The love of our family and fellow man. There are days that I wish we had the opportunity to start over In a land that did not have a monetary system of today’s standards. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to reap what we sow here on earth and be a witness to it? Well, I believe that if we focus and be purposeful with our daily lives, we can witness what we sow. The focus really needs to be on ourselves and our immediate family members. Those are the people we have the most influence over and can set the example for them to follow. Yesterday I was blessed to see my middle daughter sharing the love of Christ by preparing dinner for her friend, the daughter of our deceased friend. This is my God sighting. I would like to believe that the example set by my parents and my husband‘s parents allowed us to teach our children how to share the love of Christ during times of great loss. God is so good and the greatest teacher. We need to spend more time reading the Bible to be able to learn from the Master. May God bless you today. Good morning to January 2, 2020. Today is my second day to live a more purpose filled life. If you are wondering how I started my day, I am about to tell you. It is nothing exciting. I woke up. What a blessing this is and all too often this is taken for granted. Next in my list is morning care. I always have to brush my teeth to start the day and then I love to soak in a hot tub while sipping on coffee. I really drink cream with a little bit of coffee in it. This is thanks to my wonderful grandmother who let me drink coffee with her in the morning. It really wasn’t until I was an adult that it dawned on me she was giving me milk and splashing coffee in it so I thought I was drinking coffee like a grown-up. Grandmothers can be so wise. The next thing on my list to do is laundry and I have gotten that started. Now it’s time to hop on my rowing machine. Did I have a God sighting this morning? Yes. I witnessed my husband cleaning the French door windows on the outside. He was able to do this because God has given us a beautiful, sunshiny day. My husband is a gift from God and I am very thankful for him. Two God sightings and it is not noon yet! More to come.
Hello January 2020! I have heard it said before, out with the old and in with the new, but I am wondering just what will be new this decade. I rarely keep new year resolutions so this year I decided to make a promise to myself. My promise is to live with purpose. Lifestyle flexibility has allowed me to go with the flow and be somewhat indecisive. I believe I will be a happier person by giving myself a more defined purpose each day. So far, so good. Midnight and past New Year’s Day recap reveals work presentation on track, lunch with my daughter, preparation of delicious dinner: sausage, Sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, then reading Revelations (Bible).
