I can only imagine the magnitude of joy experienced by our Heavenly Father as he watches each of us experience growth. God provides us with opportunities to grow. It is up to us to recognize and seize these opportunities. Our faith enables each of us to use the stories told throughout the Bible. We can use them to guide us.
Burning desire, persistent thoughts, feelings that return over and over again... Do you ever wonder why you experience this; why you cannot shake an idea? I do. I have thought about this from time to time. I believe God plants seeds in our hearts to guide us as we journey through life. Frequently, I think of ideas that I believe would benefit others; thoughts that revolve around helping others and sharing information. I have always enjoyed helping others and the older I get the more I seem to enjoy helping and then watching others succeed. As my children, their friends, my co-workers, and friends experience growth, both personal and professional, I feel blessed to share in their joy and success.

Even though life is so busy God never stops trying to reach out to us and is unlimited in resources to accomplish His goals. We seem to place limits on ourselves and then it becomes easy to let messages from God go unnoticed. This almost happened to me this week at work.
Do you work with people who can be irritating? I know I do. I may be one of the workers who, on occasion, irritates others. I do not try to but... sometimes I struggle to let "it" go. Well, I had a situation at work this week in which I began to feel than sense of irritation. The feeling that begins to grow within you and soon you are fidgeting in your chair and your mind begins to race. I could not concentrate on the task at hand but was playing scenarios over in my head of just what I should say. Just then I began to smell flowers. The smell was overwhelming for me; Starglazer Lilies. I love their scent. We had a beautiful spray draped over my Mom's casket. The day before my Dad passed, he was smelling flowers when no one else smelled them. I have experienced other times when the strong scent of flowers alerted me to God's presence so I had to ask my co-workers if they were smelling anything. I knew their answer before spoken: no. I mentally acknowledged and gave thanks to God for distracting me to remind me that God, His Word and prayer are the only things that should be racing through my mind, especially in times of trouble. I felt such a peace come over me. My day completely changed into one that was pleasant. I am thankful to have a loving God that provides for me and is actively working in my life. I pray for His continued guidance and presence as I humbly serve Him through service to others. Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you will be encouraged to reach out to our Heavenly Father, develop a relationship with Him and watch for your own God sightings. Until next time, Peace be with you. |
