2 Timothy Chapter Two
8: Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: 9: Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. 10: Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11: It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
I believe I am called to my experiences with you even if it means that I suffer as a result. The negative opinions of others cannot bear weight upon my soul for I have given my soul to the Lord. I am happiest when I share God's blessings. Here is one of my God sighting from years ago:
I know I have heard the Word of God on more than one occasion. One Sunday morning I was at church. The preacher was asking for people to commit to giving $50.00 for a special project at the church. At the time I was not in a position financially to commit to such a large donation. This was back in the day when people made about $2.00 per hour so $50.00 was a large amount of money. My heart wanted to give it but my bank account told me no way. Well, God spoke to me while I was sitting there. I distinctly heard God say, "Carolyn, stand up and commit to give the money." I also had a powerful feeling come over me so I stood up and committed to give the money.
I left the church that day thinking to myself, what have you just done??? I could barely keep food on the table for myself and my daughter. There was a time frame associated with the due date and before the time was up, I had won the exact amount I had pledged to give. I went out selling tickets for a fund-raising raffle. The person who sold the most tickets received a prize. The prize was cash in the exact amount that I had committed to give to the church. Amazing. God is just amazing. He asked me to do something and I did it. I had no idea how I was going to achieve the goal but God knew exactly what would happen because he made it happen. I just needed to take a leap in faith. I will never forget this. I am so blessed to know the Lord.
