Background: We are a group of dynamic women, each with strong personality. During the past two years we have introduced several new staff and several have retired. We have a couple of co-workers who have a different work-flow than most of us. When you combine this with the fact that our boss retired, opportunity is created/exists for staff to increasingly deviate from the standard process.
The Situation: One of my co-workers (CW # 1) was asking another co-worker (CW # 2) to speak to a couple of co-workers about the work process and to tell them they are not doing their job correctly with a result that creates more work for the staff who must follow up on their work. CW #2 repeatedly said she did not want to speak with them because they would not listen to her anyway. She explained that the others become mad or offended and then ignore her. This conversation was batted back and forth until I felt it necessary to butt in to the conversation. I shared my 2 cents worth whether they wanted it or not. CW # 1 was not happy with me and continued to talk to me about the additional work that must be done by the full-time employees who must follow-up. I turned away from the conversation and continued to work. One by one, I was provided with the exact situations CW # 1 & CW # 2 were discussing. Four (4) separate cases, one immediately after the other, were in my workload that provided clarity to us all. CW # 1 asked me if I could now see and understand what she meant. I started laughing and told her we had all just been a witness to Karma. Karma bit me. Everyone in the office got a chuckle out of this acknowledgement of Karma.
We laughed and were able to share a common ground, experience and understanding. It was a good experience for bonding and I felt compelled to share this website with CW # 1. I have not openly shared this site with people that I know because I want to remain humble and follow where God leads me. I am sure God will direct people to this site if it is His will. Sharing with CW #1 was a positive experience for us.
So, I am claiming this experience, this interaction with my co-workers in our office last week as my God sighting. Karma is not a B_t_h, but an opportunity, a gift from The Father. I am going to change my vocabulary to use the word Gift instead of Karma as a reminder to myself and as an opportunity to share my faith. May God bless you abundantly as you journey through life and may you recognize and appreciate all the Gifts God offers you.
