Our daughter called to say our granddaughters were volunteering at the festival and would need to be picked up afterwards. She asked if we would pick them up and bring them home. Naturally, we said yes. We drove up a bit early to be able to purchase chicken dinners for our supper from this community fund-raiser. The guy who does the cooking is a local and member of our church. His chicken dinners are always delicious. We dropped the girls off at home, then we went home to eat our dinners. Yummy. Next up: groceries.
We needed groceries so we made a Wal-Mart run. Ben likes to use their electric scooters to help with the shopping. Most of the time this works out well. I tell him to put his phone in his pocket so I can call him if we get separated. This was an uneventful trip for us. We selected, purchased, then put the groceries away at home and settled in for an evening at home. The only out of the ordinary event that occurred was when Ben asked me what day it was. I confirmed it was Saturday. He then asked me if we were going to church in the morning. I was in shock. I felt God in the room with us. I told him that we would go to church in the morning. After this I went to bed. I had several questions for God as I said my evening prayers. I was reminded I am not alone in my journey with my husband and his progressive diseases. God is with me and with us for every step we take.
