My son-in-law has been working out of town for the past couple weeks, so we called our daughter to see if she would enjoy wings from a local restaurant. She was thrilled and said yes she would love to have us come over to her home and bring supper. Our conversation included discussion of the rain and potential for flooding. We talked about how smart it was to have built their house on the highest point of their land and about how high the water would have to get before they would get water in their basement. My daughter also informed me that her husband decided to make the drive home for the evening. This is my God sighting. God puts people where they need to be when they need to be there.
For many people it is just so easy to call life events a coincidence, but I know many of these events are the actions of God. My son-in-law did not just decide to come home. Normally he does come home in Wednesday to see his family. It breaks up the week for everyone. This week he came home on Tuesday for their wedding anniversary. He planned to stay all night in the hotel on Wednesday, but the hotel was already booked full for Wednesday. I believe this was divine intervention. The timing was perfect. He was able to get home in daylight so he could detour around the closed flooded roadways and be able to take care of the water issues in their basement.
God knew in advance and put all the pieces in place to provide for my daughter and grandchildren. My son-in-law was able to be where he was needed. God is so good at providing for all our needs. We just need to open our hearts and minds to be a witness to His glory. Thanks be to God.
