Thursday arrived and we arrived at work. Much to our surprise, it was a beautiful day. The workload was light and easily accomplished by our department staff. Everyone was in a good mood. We were able to reach out to help one another. Carrie and I left the office to head toward the training. As we waited for the elevator Carrie said "Isn't this amazing." My response was "Yes, we have been blessed." Carrie told me she had prayed for a good day and I told her I had prayed for the same thing. We talked about how good God is and how he answers our prayers.
The sermon at Church today talked of being a witness for God. Gospel: Luke 24:36B-48. Jesus has his disciples touch him to prove he has flesh and bones and asks for something to eat. He is given broiled fish, which he eats in their presence. Jesus convinces them that he has been raised and send them on am mission to proclaim the message of repentance and forgiveness. 47b and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things.
Pastor Jeff taked about how great the people within our congregation are at giving witness...as to the beauty of the flowers or the beauty of the day or the splendor of the green grass..and on and on. This is surely true for me. I try to give honest compliments to people. I try to acknowledge God's blessings when I realize them, but I fall so short of living as God wants me to live. This blog is one way I am trying to become more in tune with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as they work in my life. I also must witness more in the public eye among co-workers, friends and family.
